Paramedic Contact Information
Paramedics will turn to a victim's cell phone for clues to that person's identity. You can make their job much easier with a simple idea that they are trying to get everyone to adopt: ICE. ICE stands for In Case of Emergency. Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately. ICE your cell phone NOW! The idea is that you store the word (an entry in the contacts list) under "I C E " in your mobile phone address with the name and phone number of the person that you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". The emergency services can call on your behalf if you are injured seriously. In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them...you can save them a lot of time and have your loved ones contacted quickly. It only takes a few moments of your time to do this and it's so simple that everyone can and SHOULD do it. (For more than one contact name in an emergency situation you can list them accordingly...ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc.) Please e-mail this to everybody in your address book, it won't take too many 'forwards' before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest.
